Take a picture, maybe it'll last longer!

Snapshot 8.

I finally have them, after a good couple of weeks debating over 90 pictures I have my final 5 headshots. Here’s hoping these will up my game a little bit in getting a job! Hope you all like them. I’m really pleased with them and I’m proud at how the photographer has been able to capture my different looks.

But please, I would love some feedback! What d’ya think?

Janine, John Nichols & I

Snapshot 7.

Hurrah!! I did it. I have my headshots; well I have a contact sheet of around 90 photos. Now here comes the hard part… Narrowing them down to just 5!! Yes, you heard me correctly. 5. You have no idea how difficult that is!! When you have to take in consideration: your facial expression, clothing, eyes, hairstyle, the overall shot and could you potentially be booked from that shot. Argh! Help! Luckily, my amazing Mumsy (Janine) is always on hand to offer a good outside opinion and at a stage like this I really need and appreciate it!

The photographer I went to (John Nichols) was fabulous! He captured in my photographs exactly what I wanted to get across. But he did it in a way that actors would understand (kinda like Jay Manuel does when he artistically directs a photo shoot on ANTM). Rather than just standing there and simply taking a photo, he sets up different scenarios to go with your costume on what your certain character would be doing and during all of this he begins to take your photo as your going through the scene. It was a very clever way of doing things and I loved being a apart of it.

When it came to viewing the results, it did show that I was able to take direction and improvise well in front of a camera- which I suppose is a great skill to have, right? So I was very happy with the whole process, and I discovered a few things I didn’t know about myself too. I would recommend him to any actor in the UK seeking a headshots photographer!

Also, I’m glad I did well because with my Mumsy being present I didn’t exactly want to let her down!! Haha XD.

But all in all the day was a success! Until we got to the train station to return home, that is XD. Let’s just say a lot of incidents around the country, weather and delayed trains turned our 3hr journey home into a 5 ½ hr journey home!! Tragic -_-. Thank you, Mother Nature, thank you!

Peace & Love.

Headshots, Shoulders, Knees & Toes...

Snapshot 6.

It’s all been about preparing myself, this week. Basically, I’m getting some professional photographs taken tomorrow, to help boost my acting career. Not only that, but the last time I had some photos taken it was 2010! You forget how much you change in a year; even if it’s just slightly cutting your hair in a different way- you must keep updating your headshots. This is because when we send someone a headshot for a job, they expect to see that person standing in front of them and if you show up to an audition looking different to that photo the client is going to be like “WTF!?”.

So all in all, they’re really important.

So tomorrow I shall be going to the John Nichols Studio in Manchester to have my headshots taken. I must admit I’m really excited, if not a little nervous that my Mumsy is coming a long as it’s the first time she’ll see me interact with a client and essentially ‘do my job’ haha. But I’m looking forward to seeing the results! And no doubt will post a couple on here!

On another note…

I don’t know if it’s just me, but is anyone really struggling to go shopping for clothes at the moment? I just cannot seem to find anything I like! It’s that typical in between season feeling I’m getting, I cannot wait till the spring pastels come flooding in!  I really need it after giving half of my wardrobe to charity >_<. However, one thing that made me extremely happy was the cute offer on Barry M products in Boots! If you spend over £6 you get this extremely lush red colour lip-gloss, which is worth about £5! Bargain, eh?

You can see how well the red colour shows, and the shine on the gloss is fab!
Also tastes pretty nice too XD.

My purchases that allowed me to buy the lip-gloss,
I bought nail varnishes 'Raspberry' & 'Lemon Ice Cream' yummy! ^.^

So go and nab this deal while you can!

Peace & Love.
